"Ahlstrom balances the severity of our global crisis with refreshing clarity in what she knows can help us overcome what we are able and with a humorous, conversational, and no-holds-barred manner of speaking that a pearl-clutcher might call potty mouth. I call it honest ...This is an important book, and, with openmindedness and proactive change, we have the potential to take the necessary steps to fight the good fight alongside women like Ahlstrom. Very highly recommended."

I love her writing style, and her personality is evident on every page. Even when the content gets dark (and damn, does it get dark), her humor provides glimpses of light. Once we rounded the corner, or started filling up the hole, the book became slightly positive, then more positive, then positively radiant. The last several chapters were beautiful and brimmed with love. Did they fill the hole? Not totally, but I don’t think they were supposed to. I think, having finished, that the hole is the point—there are no easy solutions to the problem.

”This isn’t fine” by Taylor Ahlstrom is chock full of amazing knowledge every adult in America should have, about the climate, about energy about the economy about politics, I don’t think she missed a subject. You may think it’s depressing to talk about the end of the world, but in this case, she makes it funny, fascinating, and finally futuristic, and that she gives us solutions that we can help with and that is what needs to happen.

I don’t usually get through non-fiction books because even if I’m interested in the topic, it can be dry and hard to keep my attention after a long day at work. This book is not like that! It’s witty and conversational and I’m learning so much. Find myself thinking all the time about small changes I can make in my life. Excellent dinner party conversation. And seriously so fun to read! The author has a really nice way of breaking things down and writing as if we are just having a chat. Don’t hesitate, read this book!
